NFL Thursday Night Game Pick – Steelers @ Ravens
NFL Thursday Night Game Pick – Steelers @ Ravens
It’s the start of week two of the regular season and here we are with half of the 32 teams with winning records of 1-0 and the other 16 with losing records of 0-1. No division has an all winning or all losing record. So, it starts. We have the “professionals” idea of who will win and mine. I’m not a professional picker but I don’t consider anyone a professional picker. I mean heck there has been allegations for years that games have been like WWE matches. So I look at all the stuff they do, the weather, whose hurt, blah blah blah and pick whose gonna win or lose but we all know there will be one game somewhere in the season where one team will defy all odds and beat the team that all chose to win.
So for the “experts” I chose NFL.com and ESPN.com they have Dan Hanzus, Gregg Rosenthal, Kevin Patra, Marc Sessler, Chris Wesseling, Allen, Golic, Hoge, Jaworski, Joyner, Mortensen, Scheften, Schlereth, Wichersham, Jackson, Johnson, Ditka, and Carter. Then we are also going up against Vegas and what The Machine is picking.
So we’ll see where I stand at the end of it all.
Thursday 09/11
Pittsburgh Steelers 1-0 @ Baltimore Ravens 0-1 0725
ESPN – 3 chose Ravens / 10 chose Steelers
NFL – 3 chose Ravens / 2 chose Steelers
The Machine – Ravens
Vegas – Ravens (-3)
Me – Ravens
This is a weird one. If you look at the experts, percentage wise, NFL.com had a higher percentage of experts pick the Ravens to win. However, more experts picked the Steelers to win. Although I’m picking the Ravens for home field advantage. It’s gonna be 85 in Baltimore, so it’s gonna be a great night for football. However, Ray Rice is gone and could that cause an issue with the Ravens needing to fill the gap he creates? Jim Harbaugh says that it won’t be an issue but they always say that. However, we all know it isn’t true. When you lose a main player like a running back it’s gonna be felt. Baltimore lost their home opener last week and no team has ever reached the playoffs when starting the season 0-2 with both losses at home against a division opponent.
