The Start of the 2014 Green Bay Packers Season

The season has begun and darn it all to heck but I was locked in a basement. Literally…..locked in a basement. Not kidding. Wednesday……locked in a basement. Thursday….locked in a basement. Friday……locked in a basement. I even tried to teach a mouse to drag a note out to my family to go for help. But alas, it was no use. I was trapped. Then when the game came on it was torture. When I was finally rescued, from my deep dark dungeon, I immediately went up to see what I had missed. Man I wish I had stayed in the basement completely oblivious to the HUGE 20 point loss. Still dreaming that we were superior to the Super Bowl champs. However, my blind devotion was tested huge.  We lost our Rookie of the Year Eddie Lacy to a concussion, Bryan Bulaga went out (both now possibly out for week 2) and Richard Rodgers went out. What am I telling all of you for right? You saw the darn game. You know we lost. Do we really need a recap on it? Why relive the pain?

So next week the New York Jets come into Lambeau for our home opener at 325 on NBC for the ones of us that will be watching on the ole boob tube cause we don’t have season tickets yet. I only have 31,553 more spots left to move to get mine!

The Jets won their season opener against  the Raiders. The Raiders weren’t favored to win to begin with, they had too many positional questions. Beating Seattle in the final preseason game obviously gave the Jets a nice boost and the fact that Green Bay just lost to Seattle won’t help the Packs confidence. However, the fact that the Jets took 11 penalties for 101 yards and had two turnovers is just what the Pack lives for. Most people have the Pack winning at home and I agree. I think Lacy will be back even though the concussion was his second in a short period. Rodgers is healthy. We are at home and we have alot to prove. The defense and running game are our biggest question marks. If we lose it’s going to be due to those pieces. We have almost a week and a half to get our heads on straight. Dom Capers needs to get his defense working. We won’t be Superbowl contenders with our defense at this level.

My Prediction: Pack wins 28-10
